Raknno Website Launched, 3 Catholic Journalists Honored

Mangalore, Nov 16: The Konkani Weekly Raknno and Canara Communication Centre organized the 43rd World Media Day on Nov 15, Sunday, at 6 p.m. 

Fr. Richard Rego introduced senior journalist Mr. Gabriel Vas, who was the resource person of the event. Mr. Vas has been a journalist for the past 37 years. The event also included an open discussion about journalism. 

Dr. Aloysius D’Souza launched the Raknno website during this occasion. Simultaneously Dr. Ronald Fernandes, the editor of Deccan Herald; Mrs. Concepta Alva of Akashvani, Mangalore; and Mrs. Florine Roche of Akashvani, Mangalore were honored with mementoes, shawls, flowers, and fruits for their valuable contributions. 

Fr. Ronald D’Souza was the master of ceremonies for the programme. Fr Vijay Lobo, the director of Canara Communication Centre, made the welcome speech. Fr. William expressed gratitude.
