CD of Tulu Film ’Birse’ Released

Mangalore, Nov 16: President of Kannada Sahitya Parishad Pradeep Kumar Kalkura released the CD of the Tulu film "Birse" at the Press Club on Nov 16, Monday, and said that it is the greatest achievement of the people of Tulunad.

During his inaugural speech, Mr. Kalkura also praised the Tulu language as a langue of depth and culture and informed the audience that Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt used Tulu script.  

"Birse" is a production of Vinayaka Movie Makers, Bangalore, in collaboration with Deepa Enterprises. The total cost of this film, which comprises melodious songs, is Rs 35 lakhs. V G Pal, the actor, who spoke on the occasion, said that the movie is based on the story of a man who brightens the life of a widow.  Naveen D Padil, the actor, and Vadiraj of Deepa Enterprises were also present.
