Army Recruitment Camp in Udupi

Udupi, Nov 13: An army recruitment camp is being organized on Ajjaraka Ground in Udupi from Nov 12. The ground is occupied by candidates aspiring for various posts in the army. The recruitment team hopes to select at least 400 members during this camp.

The candidates hail from Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Chikkamagalur, Shimoga, Davanagere, Hassan, and Chitradurga. Around 1000 candidates flocked to the camp on its very first day. C R Deshpande, the recruitment director, said that the response received has far exceeded expectations. 

An examination was conducted on Nov 12 for the posts of painter, washermen, barber, tradesmen, and decorators. Examinations were also conducted for sportsmen and NCC cadets.

Tests such as high jump, running, and so on were conducted.

On Nov 14 and 15, candidates will be recruited for the posts of general duty soldier. On Nov 16, an examination will be conducted for the post of technical staff members. 

Tahsildar Prasanna is arranging food for all the candidates.
