Strict Rules for Bars and Wine Shops in Mangalore

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Amit Singh has ordered all bars and wine shops in the city to close down by 11:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., respectively. 

The reason for this order is that the bars and wine shops in Mangalore hardly follow any rule and remain open till 1:00 a.m. Previously, the bars and wine shops in Mangalore were allowed to remain open till 11:30 p.m. 

The ASP also said that, because of the bars and wine shops remaining open until late into the night, the number of accidents and criminal activities is on the rise. The rise in illegal activities was because of bars functioning during the late night hours. The ASP said that the order was issued in order to put a curb on criminal activities in Mangalore.
