SSLC Question Paper Model Will Change in 2010

Mangalore, Nov 10: Director of Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board M N Baig inaugurated “SSLC Examination Question Paper 2010,” a workshop on setting SSLC question papers organized in the auditorium of Milagres High School by the department of public instruction, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, and the Dakshina Kannada District Association of Heads of High Schools and P U Colleges.

Mr. Baig said that certain changes will be made to the pattern of the SSLC question paper from this academic year and that, as per the new pattern, multiple-choice questions will be reduced and essays will be given more importance. The purpose of the change is to develop writing skills in the students. 

Similar workshops have been organized in several districts to discuss the new model in detail. Mr. Baig said that the purpose of these workshops is to increase awareness about question papers and to develop essential skills of setting question papers among school teachers. 

C Chame Gowda, the deputy directory of the district department of public instruction; Fr Lawrence D’ Souza, the president of the above association and principal of Milagres P U College; various resource persons; Aravind Katti; and A P Gundappa were present during the inauguration of the workshop.

Eighty-six teachers of Dakshina Kannada participated in this workshop. The new model of the SSLC question paper will be sent to all schools.
