Dr Vyjayanthimala Bali Receives Natyakala Tapaswini

Mangalore, Nov 9: Sridevi Nrithya Kendra Mangalore will confer the Natyakala Tapaswini award on Dr Vyjayanthimala Bali the renowned dancer on the occasion of Nrityotsava 2009, which will be organized in at 6:15 p.m. in the Town Hall on Nov 9.

Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, the president of the Dakshina Kannada District Kannada Sahitya Parishad, said that Sri Ramakrishna Alva Memorial Trust instituted this award to be given in fond memory of the great dance guru late Padmashree K N Dandayudhapani Pillai. 

The students of Sridevi Nrithya Kendra will present a dance ballet "Chitrambala Kuravanji," composed by late K N Dadayudhapani Pillai and choreographed by dance guru Jayalakshmi Alva. 

Sri Lakshminarayana Asranna, the priest of Kateel Shri Durgaparameshwari Temple, will bless the occasion, which will be presided over by Mr. Ananthakrishna, the non-executive chairman of Karnataka Bank.
