Serial Killer Put in Separate Cell and Closely Watched

Mangalore, Nov 5: There have been two notable developments in serial killer Mohan Kumar’s case.  First, he is no longer a teacher. The deputy director of District Education Office in Mangalore has relieved Mohan Kumar of his duties as a primary school teacher from Nov 2 because he has been found to be absent from duty from Aug 24, 2002 to Aug 1, 2005 and from Aug 3, 2005 to the present date.

Second, the Puttur police have applied at the Puttur Court for a body warrant of the serial killer with relation to the murder of Sharada (24) of Peramugaru, Kedila, Puttur. The court is to give its order regarding the body warrant of Mohan Kumar on Nov 16. 

The serial killer, who has been remanded to judicial custody till Nov 13, has been placed in a separate cell because police feel that he will not only be assaulted by other inmates, but might also attempt to commit suicide. Mohan Kumar is now being closely watched.
