Absconding accused nabbed after 8 years

Bantwal, Feb 4, 2024: Bantwal Town police on Friday arrested an accused, who was absconding without appearing before the court for the past eight years.

The accused, Iliyas aka Ane Iliyas, 50, a resident of Nandavara in Bantwal taluk, was booked in a case registered under sections 341, 504, 324, 506 and 34 of IPC in 2013.

Bantwal town police head constable Latheef and constable Mallik Sab succeeded in arresting the absconding accused, whom the court has remanded in judicial custody.
