211 vehicles seized for flouting lockdown rules

Mangaluru, April 5, 2020: "211 vehicles seized for lockdown violations ..I AM NOT HAPPY .. ARE YOU?? Don’t play with lives of fellow countrymen.. comply with instructions.. save yourself and Don’t risk others lives to the CORONA pandemic...We will not hesitate to go all the way to enforce...STAY HOME..(sic)." This was the tweet made by City Police Commissioner Dr P S Harsha, in a way  stating that he was unhappy  with the way in which  people are trying to break lockdown rules.

This was after as many as 211 private vehicles were seized in the city for violating the rules. Elsewhere in the district 73 vehicles were seized.

Since April 2, strict lockdown rules have been enforced and no private vehicle is allowed on the  roads except emergency service vehicles and  vehicles ferrying hospital staff as well as media vehicles.
