’Venkappayya Samskrithika Bhavana’ foundation stone laying

Mangaluru, Jan 18, 2020: The foundation stone for the Venkappayya Samskrithika Bhavana will be laid at Siribagilu in Kasargod, today January 18. The work on the Bhavana are being taken up by the Siribagilu Venkappayya Samskrithika Prathishtana.

Briefing media, Sathish Adapa, advisor of Siribagilu Venkappayya Samskrithika Prathishtana said that the full-fledged Bhavana will be built at a cost of Rs 2 crore.

It will have a hall for the staging Yakshagana, Yakshagana library, museum, and information centre on Yakshagana. Free training in Yakshagana Hommela, dance, Arthagarike will be organised at the Bhavana.

Traditional structure :  He said the Prathishtana has taken up efforts to conserve the traditional structure of Yakshagana. The foundation has arranged numerous programmes including Ranga Prasanga, to conserve many diminishing stage structures and performance in a traditional way.

Yaksha Kavyantharanga to expose the rich literature of Yakshagana, Arthantharanga, to spread the essence of extempore in Yakshagana.

The foundation is also planning to hold pro-Kannada activities and art exhibitions in the Bhavana. The Bhavana work is likely to be completed in two years, he added.

Edaneery Mutt seer Keshavananda Bharathi Swamiji will bless the occasion. Karnataka Minister for Kannada and Culture C T Ravi will lay the foundation stone for the Bhavana.

BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel, Minister for Fisheries and Ports Kota Srinivas Poojary DK In-charge,  will be chief guests.
