Youth dies rat fever suspected

Mangaluru, Dec 8, 2019: Manoj, a 28-year-old youth  of Koliyoor village in Varkady, died of suspected rat fever on December 7,  Saturday.

The deceased was staying with his maternal aunt in Kutthar.  Manoj was shifted to a private hospital when his fever showed no signs of subsiding.

A welder by profession, Manoj was the vice president of Battedadi DYFI.

District Health Officer Dr Ramakrisha Rao when contacted said he had no information about any death due to rat fever.  Further information is awaited.
