Will fight against GST, other taxes says KSCCSF

Udupi, Nov 3, 2019: The GST and other taxes has had a negative impact on the co-operative sector and Karnataka State Cooperative Credit Societies Federation (KSCCSF) has decided to launch a state-level campaign, KSCCSF President K Lalitha G T Deve Gowda said on Nov 2,Saturday.

Addressing the gathering at a workshop organised for the directors, CEOs and employees of credit cooperative societies under Mysuru division, at Badagubettu Society Hall. The workshop was organised by KSCCSF and Udupi Badagubettu Credit Cooperative Society.

The problems faced by cooperative societies with the imposition of GST and taxes were brought to the notice of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman.

She sought support from cooperative societies to the campaign planned against the GST and others taxes imposed on them.

Badagubettu Credit Cooperative Society President Sanjeeva Kanchan, who inaugurated the workshop, said a few of the laws passed by the Centre were posing hurdles in serving the people.

An attempt is being made to curtain the activities of the cooperative societies, he charged.

Udupi District Cooperative Union President B Jayakara Shetty Indrali said, “The attitude of the government towards cooperative societies has hit the societies hard.”

DK and Udupi District Fisheries Marketing Federation President Yashpal Suvarna and others were present and much enthusiasm is expected.
