9th annual convocation at Nitte, Sept 14, today

Mangaluru, Sep 14, 2019: Nitte (Deemed to be University) will conduct its 9th Annual Convocation on Nitte grounds, KSHEMA Campus, on Saturday at 3.30 pm, today.

Nitte (Deemed to be University) has 14 undergraduate courses, 51 postgraduate courses and Super specialty Course in M.Ch Urology apart from doctoral programmes in the faculties of medicine, dental sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, nursing sciences, physiotherapy, biological sciences, allied health sciences and humanities.

Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) degree will be awarded to Dr Rajgopala Chidambaram –DAE Homi Baba Chair Professor in BARC and former principal scientific advisor, Government of India and Dr N R Shetty, chancellor, Central University of Karnataka (Kalaburagi) and former vice-chancellor, Bangalore University.

A total of 916 students will be awarded degree certificates — Doctor of Philosophy (19) , Medical-221, Dental-142 (Postgraduate-47+Undergraduate-95), Pharmacy-156 (PG-46+UG-110), Nursing-117 (PG-5+UG-112), Physiotherapy -64 (10-PG-+UG-54), Allied Health Science-102 (MPH-10+BSc.(MIT)-30, BSc (OTT)-31 and BSc(MLT)-31), Journalism & Mass Communication-36 (PG-10+ UG-26), Biological Science-59 (15-PG+UG-44).

The convocation address will be delivered by Prof Rama Thirunamachandran, vice-chancellor, Canterbury Christ Church University at Cantebury, Kent, UK. N Vinaya Hegde, chancellor of the University will preside.
