May 25, 2019: The Railways has cancelled four trains today May 25, Saturday for dismantling an abandoned bridge in Kottayam in Kerala.

The trains cancelled are those running between Mangaluru Central and Nagercoil. The Ernad Express Train No 16605 from Manglauru Central and its pairing Train No 16606 from Nagercoil have been cancelled. The Parasuram Express Train No 16649 from Mangaluru Central and its pairing Train No 16650 from Nagercoil have also been cancelled.

According to a press release from the Southern Railway, six more trains have also been fully cancelled. Two trains each have been partially cancelled on the Shoranur-Kochuveli and Alappuzha-Ernakulam routes, respectively.

The changes in the movement of trains are to facilitate the work of dismantling the abandoned Nagampadom Bow-String Bridge at Kottayam Yard in Kerala. The Railways has decided to close down traffic on the route between 12.40 a.m. on Saturday and 12.40 a.m. on Sunday.
