Book on journey into Himalayas launched

Mar 08, 2019: MAHE Registrar (Evaluation) Dr Vinod V Thomas released ‘Uncharted: My Journey into the Himalayas’, a book authored by Ganesh Nayak.  The book is the 152nd publication of Manipal Universal Press.  The book explores life, its challenges and great adventures when the author was a student.

He does not miss out on his battle with smoking and the great adventures as a cyclist. It captures Ganesh’s journey from being a student at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) and going on to becoming a faculty member at MIT.

At the book-reading session, Ganesh read a few paragraphs highlighting his struggle to quit smoking, his adventures in the Himalayas and the more recent Kudremukh trip along with students.   MIT Director Dr Srikant Rao said Ganesh was a source of inspiration to the student community.

“How he changed his lifestyle to lead a more healthy and rewarding life is an example for every student to follow,” Dr Rao said.

MIT Joint Director Dr B H Venkataram Pai and Head of Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering Dr Dayanand Nair also spoke.
