Trust donates cheque for Rs. 25L to kin of killed CRPF personnel

Udupi, Feb 19, 2019: G. Shankar, promoter of G. Shankar Family Trust, handed over a cheque of Rs. 25 lakh to the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vidya Kumari, here on Monday, to be given to the families of 40 personnel of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who were killed in a terrorist attack at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir on February 14. The cheque was handed over at a condolence function organised by the trust, Mogaveera Yuva Sanghatane, and other likeminded organisations, here.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shankar said the district administration should send the Rs. 25 lakh directly to the families of the CRPF personnel who died in Pulwama.

It was the duty of every citizen of the country to stand by them. A ‘zero traffic’ facility was provided when VIPs travelled in the country. Such a ‘zero traffic’ facility should be provided when the convoys of soldiers were travelling, he said.

Ms. Vidya Kumari said that the amount would be sent to the families of the martyred CRPF personnel through the Chief Minister’s Office.
