Manipal to host ’All India tennis tourney’ from December 26

Manipal, Dec 23, 2018: Manipal Academy of Higher Education will host the All India Inter-University Inter Zone Tennis Tournament for Women 2018-19 on its campus, from December 26 to 28.

“This the first time that the Association of Indian University, New Delhi has entrusted MAHE with the responsibility of hosting the event,” said MAHE Sports Council Secretary Dr Vinod Nayak.

He added, “Sixteen Universities from the four Zones, North, South, East and West have confirmed their participation”.

A total of 80 players and 30 officials and coaches will be here.

All arrangements have been made and the teams will be put up at MIT Hostel Blocks, Nayak added.

Matches will be played on all six synthetic courts in the university. Two in Marena Sports Complex, two in KMC and two in MIT.

Matches will be played on knock out basis.  The inaugural function will be held at Marena Sports Complex on December 26 at 9.30 am.

Former India cricketer Robin Singh will be the chief guest during the programme.

Dr Chinnappa Reddy, Chief Patron, National Association of Physical Education and Sports science will be the guest of honor.
