CL5 licence, regulation to serve booze at bashes

Bengaluru, Dec 16, 2018: A CL5 temporary licence is necessary for distribution of liqour during marriage, birthday and other parties held at community halls and auditoriums.

According to an official press release by the Excise Department, applications seeking the licence have to be filed a week before the event.

A fee of Rs. 10,000 will be collected for a day’s CL5 licence.

After getting the licence, the liquor served at the party should be purchased only from outlets of Karnataka State Beverages Corporation Limited, the release said.
