Western Range Home Guards participate in sports meet

Mangalore, Dec 9: The Western Range Home Guards participated in a Sports Meet organized on DAR police grounds in Mangalore. More than 100 Home Guards hailing from 4 districts participated in this event. A team from North Kanara won the overall championship. 

Dr. Nidarsh Hegde, the commandant of the Home Guards, said that the sports event is organized annually in order to provide a common platform for the Home Guards of the Western Range to not only exhibit their talent for sports, but also to meet and interact with one another. 

B Nagaraj Shetty, the chairman of the coastal development authority, was the chief guest. He was also given the guard of honour.
