Mangaluru, Nov 28, 2014: According to reliable media sources, interaction with Minister of State for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar has been organised for teachers, education experts, activists and students at Shivaram Karanth auditorium on University College campus on November 29.

The participants can share their thoughts with the Minister on bringing changes to the present education system. The programme has been organised by the Samadharshi Vedike.


On Dec. 1 :   The NSS units of colleges affiliated to Mangalore University, State Legal Services Authority, and the Health and Family Welfare department will celebrate World AIDS day on December 1. The function will be held at the St. Aloysius College auditorium off the Light House Hill Road at 9.30 a.m., according to an official press release.On

Saturday Nov.29 :  The State-level committee, which is physically verifying ecologically sensitive areas in the Western Ghats mentioned in the Kasturirangan Report, will interact with people and activists from the area on November 29. The programme will be held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner at 3 p.m., according to an official press release.

Awards :

Writer and linguist Padekallu Narasimha Bhat will be given DeRaJe Award at a function to be held at the Sharavu Ganapati Temple on November 29. Mr. Bhat, who is well-versed in Sanskrit, Kannada and English, has translated into English Sediyapu Krishna Bhat’s work Tathyadarshana . He was the president of 16th district Kannada Sahitya Sammelan held in Bantwal, said an official press release.
