Mangaluru, May 25, 2017: Newly phone-in agenda introduced by Mayor Kavitha Sanil on Tuesday mainly observed citizens calling to share and suggest their views related to civic works.

This Programme brought out a variety of views from the well informed citizens of Mangaluru, the response received pictured a welcoming and alert atmosphere with respect to the citizens.

Some of the inputs that drew attention were, Supreeth Kumar, a caller who wanted the Mayor to introduce uniforms for the corporation employees on the lines of government departments like the post office etc, so that identification would be easier. Another citizen suggested whether the sewage water can be treated and used to supply drinking water along with rainwater harvesting measures.

A caller who introduced himself as Suresh from Monkey Stand put forward a few of his opinions, for the MCC to check  the middle-men’s  menace by opening  information centers on the lines for the government departments. Another interesting opinion from this caller to the Mayor was to open such a center at Mangaladevi to cater to the needs of the people in the vicinity.

An activist, M P Shenoy from an NGO Suvarna Karnataka, offered to provide documents related to encroachments’ of storm water drains, while laying the road and constructing buildings in the city.
