Mangalore, July 26, 2014: The police have arrested two persons who allegedly assaulted a Kasaragod boy for walking with his two female friends. Based on a complaint by the victims, the Mangalore North police have taken up a case.

The police said the boy arrived at the Mangalore bus stand along with his classmates belonging to a different community. All three went shopping on K.S. Rao Road. Near the Sharavu Temple, the boy asked a few persons for directions to a nearby beach. After telling the direction, the persons reportedly called someone and told them about the boy moving with women from another community.

Two persons blocked the boy’s way and rained blows on him around 11 a.m. The assaulted boy filed a complaint with the police.

The Mangalore North police named the arrested persons as Nitin (21) from Uppala and Naveen (22) from Kumbla. The two were produced before the jurisdictional magistrate, the police said.
