Tulu Nadu culture to be preserved, museum to come up

Mangaluru, April 28, 2019: Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy President A C Bhandary on April 27, Saturday said that a museum would come up at Tulu Bhavana to protect culture, tradition of Tulu Nadu and to introduce the same to the new generations.

He was addressing a gathering after releasing “Tulu Nataka Parampare” by Muddu Moodubelle and translated Kannada work ‘Shikari’ by Prameela Madhav (original work by Lalitha Rai), at Tulu Bhavana April 27, Saturday.

He said that more literary works should be generated for the growth of the language. In the past 25 years, the Academy published 197 works. In the past one year, 20 Tulu literary works were brought out.

In addition financial assistance had been provided to publish nine literary works. Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade had advised the Academy to ensure that works were available online. The academy would work on uploading the literary works online, he said.

Udupi Rathabeedi Geleyara Balaga President Prof Muralidhar Upadhya spoke on the work “Tulu Nataka Parampare” while Yermal Bada PU College Principal Dr Jyothi Chelyaru spoke on “Shikari” the Kannada translation.
