Mangaluru, Sep 28, 2016: It is reported that the Commissionerates of central excise and service tax and customs as part of ongoing preparedness for rolling out GST regime, are conducting intensive training course on GST for officers concerned. One such training programme got underway in the city on Monday, where over 200 officers are being trained in three batches over five-day duration. It is aimed at equipping the officers for the impending GST regime by providing an in-depth study of the model GST law.

B Sumidaa Devi, joint director, directorate general of Central Excise Intelligence (DGCEI) who inaugurated the workshop said, "It is incumbent for all officers to make use of such training programmes to expand their knowledge and understanding of the model GST law," she said.
