Tantric studies workshop on Jan 23 to 27

Mangaluru, Jan 22, 2017: A media release issued by the MCPH here on Jan 21, Saturday said that  Centre for Religious Studies, a division of the Manipal Centre for Philosophy and Humanities (MCPH), Manipal University, will organise a five-day international workshop on tantric studies here from January 23 to 27.

The workshop will principally include a close textual reading of selections from various scriptures each followed by various contributions and discussions.

The aim is to examine tantric scriptural and post-scriptural literature, much of which is unpublished or must be studied using numerous manuscripts. Scholars from across the globe will be conducting sessions over the course of these five days.

A Yakshagana performance will be organised during the workshop besides an afternoon excursion to the participants to the local Jain temples in Karkala.
