Udupi 25, 2015; As per a media release from the  ’Yakshagana Kalaranga’,  Sri Krishna Mutt, Department of Kannada and Culture, and other organisations will organise a Tala Maddale Saptaha titled ‘Hanumacharita’ at Rajangana from May 26 to June 1.  The episodes which would be featured in the weeklong festival are: ‘Hanumodbhava – Sri Rama Darshan’ composed by Balipa Narayana Bhagawata and Partisubba on May 26; ‘Hanuma Langhana’ composed by Partisubba on May 27; ‘Hanuma Santwana’ composed by Partisubba on May 28; and ‘Hanuma Sahasa’ composed by Hattiangady Rama Bhat on May 29. The episodes will be staged from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Matti Muralidhar Rao Award would be given away to Melinagantige Narayana Bhat, and the Perla Krishna Bhat Award to Vitla Shambhu Sharma during the valedictory of the festival at 4 p.m. on June 1.

Sri Vidyavallabha Tirtha of Kaniyur Mutt would inaugurate the festival at 4.30 p.m. on May 26. S.A. Prabhakar Sharma, managing officer of Pilikula Nisarga Dhama, Mangaluru, would preside over the valedictory at 4 p.m. on June 1.    A conference of Yakshagana artistes would be held at Rajangana at 2.30 p.m. on May 31.

A medical check-up camp for Yakshagana artistes would be held at ENT Department, KMC Hospital, at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Ratnakar, a physician from Shivamogga, would give a lecture on ‘Artiste and health’ from 11 a.m. to noon.   A lecture-demonstration by actor-director Krishnamurthy Kavathar, sponsored by Karnataka Yakshagana Bayalata Academy, would be held from noon to 1 p.m. The 16th annual general body meeting of the Yakshagana Kalaranga would be held at 2 p.m., the release added.
