Symposium on Kannada literature on Sept 20

Mangalore, Sep1 8, 2014: Kannada Sahitya Akademi in association with Besant Women’s College will organise asymposium on ‘New harvest in Kannada literature,’ on September 20 at Besant Women’s College auditorium, Sahitya Akademi Kannada Advisory Board Convener Narahalli Balasubramanya will inaugurate the programme and Kannada scholar BA Vivek Rai will deliver the key-note address, College Principal B K Pushpalatha told reporters on Wednesday.

The symposium will witness two main sessions. The first session will be on ‘Jadimaleya Blogugalu.’ G N Ashoka Vardhana and M S Sriram will present papers and G N Mohan will chair the session. The post-lunch session ‘Badugalillada holagalu,’ will be chaired by writer Vasudendhra. C Naganna will speak about K Poornachandra Tejaswi’s book ‘Mayaloka,’ Tarini Shubhadayini will speak on ‘Jaathre,’ authored by Vaidehi and H Dundiraj will comment on ‘Innondu Santhe,’ a book by Srinivasa Vaidya.

Writer and senior journalist Laksham Kodse will deliver valedictory address and Sahitya Akademi Kannada Advisor Board member Na Damodar Shetty will preside over.

The programme is supported by Mangalore based organisation Rangasangathi. Sahitya Akademi will arrange a book exhibition on the occasion.
