Mangaluru, Sep 22, 2016: In about eight months time, by June 2016,  a full-fledged district stree shakti bhavan complex will come up at Bejai, here. Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo launched works of extension project of the complex on Sept 20, Tuesday.

The complex, that forms the ground floor for now with an ’L’ shaped market to set up make-shift stalls for women entrepreneurs, will be adding two more floors. The extended building will house the offices of deputy director, Women and Child Welfare department and Disabled Welfare.

MLA Lobo told media, "With the shifting of aforementioned offices in future to the prime location, it will enable people from far away places visit the officials with ease. The government has already released Rs 25 lakh against the estimated cost of Rs 69.50 lakh for the project. Nirmithi Kendra will be executing the project".

Sundar Poojary Deputy Director of department of Women and Child Welfare was present.
