Mangaluru, Jan 12, 2018 : The 137 year old Fr Muller Charitable Institutions at Kankanady in the city is very well known and popular. Established in 1880 by the Jesuit founder Rev. Fr. Augustus Muller SJ it is today a super-specialty hospital serving a wide cross section of people in the heart of Mangalore. The tireless efforts and blessings have enabled the institution to spread its wings far and wide giving shelter to various Medical and Paramedical Colleges. The Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing is one of the young colleges of this renowned Institution which
started in 2007 and is now celebrating the Decennial Year, stated the Director of the Institution to media.
The outpatient department of speech and hearing began in 1984 as a part of ENT Department. In the year 2007 under the able leadership of late Rev. Fr. Patrick Rodrigues and the then Dean of Medical College Dr. B. Sanjeev Rai; “Father Muller Speech & Hearing College” got affiliated to Mangalore University and received RCI recognition. Within a short span of 10 years the college has made its excellence felt by getting NAAC accreditation, NABH and 2(f) and 12(B) States from UGC. We are happy to say that we are the second college in India and the only college under Mangalore University to receive this great honor. We also cherish the permanent Affiliation from Mangalore University.
In the past 10 years the college has undertaken various activities like:
1. Faculty development programme, 2. Students progression and success activities, 3. Organizing conference and seminars.
4. Public Awareness Programme, 5. Research Activities.
