Udupi, Dec 13, 2017: Udupi DC Priyanka Mary Francis said on Dec 12, Tuesday that a national-level sculpture camp would be held at the Rotary Hall on the Mannu Palla Lake here as part of the Udupi Parba (Udupi Festival) from December 16 to 23.

Addressing media DC Francis said that noted sculptors, including Anees Shilpi, Pramod Shilpi and Sunny Joseph from Kerala, Vijay Kumar from Chennai, Vishwanath from Moodbidri, Anil from Bengaluru, Dwarki from Mysuru, Ganesh Urala, Gururaj S. Nayak, would participate in the camp.

The sculptures carved by them would be exhibited at the Mannu Palla Lake.

Interaction  :  Ravi Kumar Kashi from Bengaluru would chair a discussion on “Interaction between the traditional and the contemporary in visual arts” as part of the camp at 4 p.m. on Saturday. An adventure festival too would be held at Malpe beach from December 29 to 31 as part of Udupi Parba. It would be held in association with General Thimayya National Academy of Adventure.

A national-level open swimming championship would be held as part of the festival at Malpe beach. The details of other events were being worked and will be announced shortly.
