Mangaluru, Aug 22,2017: The Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths on Monday arrested a revenue inspector from Panja in Sullia taluk for allegedly accepting Rs. 8,000 in bribe.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, ACB, Sudhir Hegde, Revenue Inspector D.T. Dayanand demanded Rs. 8,000 from Harish Kumar, a resident of Murulya village, for processing application under Form 94 (c) for regularisation of his site in a government land.

On Monday, Dayanand came in a car to a hotel in Sullia to meet Kumar. The ACB sleuths caught Dayanand while he was accepting the amount, Mr. Hegde said. Dayanand (45) has been charged with an offence under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act. He was produced before a local magistrate who remanded Dayanand in judicial custody.
