Mangalore, Jan 11: The Pulse Polio, which was inaugurated by District-in-charge Minister Krishna Palemar at Wenlock Hospital, reports a success rate of 89.52 percent. In DK, 1,55,516 children were given pulse polio drops.

In Mangalore, 66,833 children received polio drops. 23,462 children in Puttur, 22,314 in Belthangady, and 31,849 in Bantwal received pulse polio drops. A press release has revealed that the drive witnessed the lowest percentage of success  (79.17 percent) within Mangalore City limits. 

In Udupi, 80,515 children were given pulse polio drops on Sunday. The Department of Health and Family Welfare has revealed that 36,815 of the 39,075 children in Udupi received polio drops, which is a success rate of 94.22 percent. In Kundapur, 28,606 of the targeted 31,197 children were given polio drops; and in Karkala, 15,094 of the targeted 16,231 children received polio drops. 

The personnel of the Department of Health and Family Welfare will re-visit the urban areas of the district on Monday and Tuesday so that parents who could not bring their children on Sunday can do so on these days. They will visit the rural areas on Jan 11 - 13.
