Nov 13, 2014:  Chandrashekar Gorabal who was a guest lecturer at Government First Grade College, Sindhanur in Raichur district,  a 48-year-old man from Koppal who was arrested on naxal charges four years ago, was on November 12, Wednesday released from Central Prison Mysuru,  This follows the order of Udupi District and Sessions Court, that acquitted him of the charges of a murder case reported in Hebri in 2008.

Chandrashekar Gorabal arrested by Andhra Pradesh police in 2010. One case each was registered against him at Godhwal in Andhra Pradesh, Koppa in Chikkamagaluru district and Hebri in Udupi district in Karnataka. The case of Hebri had hogged limelight then for the murder of Bhoja Shetty, a civilian.

Speaking to media on his release, Gorabal blamed the government for practising partisan attitude by targetting a select group of persons who are involved in the movements. “I love teaching and prefer to continue with it,” said Gorabal.     Gorabal who was acquitted of the charges made in AP and Koppa police stations, had been shifted to Central Prisons Mysuru last November. He was absolved of the remaining charge, facilitating his release.
