Udupi, October 31, 2009: Rajarajeshwari Tourist Boat Group is going to launch a new tourist boat service to St. Mary’s Islands, a collection of charming basalt rock islands around 8 kms from Malpe, which are accessible via boat alone. Home Minister V S Acharya will inaugurate the new service on November 1. MLA Raghupathy Bhat will preside over the function. The chief guests will be DC P Hemalatha, N S Prasanna Kumar, Yashpal Suvarna, Indira Shekar, Vijay Kunder, SP Praveen Madhukar Pawar, Dinakar Shetty, Gokuldas Nayak, and Panduranga Malpe. 

This new boat can easily accommodate around 100 tourists, who will also be provided insurance facilities. The boat has 2 floors, of which the upper floor is reserved for parties, and the lower floor is for sightseeing. The boat permits travellers to organize small parties, such as birthday parties, from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. in the middle of the sea. In addition, the boat has the facilities of 100 life jackets, 2 life buoys, first aid box, a security staff of 6, toilets, drinking water facilities, stereo systems, and wash basins. 

The organizers of this new boat are Ganesh Baputhota, Praveen Kumar, and Sadananda Ameen.
