National conference on social innovation and change - December 3 & 4

Mangaluru, Nov 30, 2015 : Media information states,  St Philomena College, Puttur  PG department of social work, in association with Ashoka Innovators for the Public is organizing a two-day national conference - ’Philoference 2015’ on the theme ’Social Innovation and Change Making: A way forward’ December 3 & 4. Satyajit Majumdar, chairperson, Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, School of Management and Labour Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai will deliver keynote address.

Principal Leo Noronha, will preside. Shashikumar Velath and Yashveer Singh of Ashoka Innovators for the Public, James Rajanayagam, project Consultant, Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship, IIT, Madras will participate as resource persons. Research scholars and teachers will present research papers on the conference theme. Successful entrepreneurs and innovators will narrate their success stories. 

Conference consists of social innovation idea pitching competitions, collage, and poster making. Practitioners, faculties and students from social work, economics, management and members of NGO will participate as delegates. Shashikumar Velath, leadership group member, vice-president, Framework Change, South Asia, Ashoka Innovators for the Public will deliver valedictory address. Rev Antony Prakash Monteiro, chairperson of PG Studies will be the chief guest.
