Mangalore, Sep 13, 2014: Akhila Bharata Billawara Union and Narayanaguru Education Institutions will jointly oraganise 160 th birth anniversary of Brahmashree Narayana Guru and Damodary R Suvarna memorial scholarship distribution programme, at Town Hall in Mangalore, on September 14, at 10am, said Akhila Bharata Billawara Union president Navichandra D Suvarana.

Addressing a press conference, he said Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda will inaugurates the programme, while Sate Assembly Speaker kagodu Thimmappa will distribute the scholarship, Minister Vinay Kumar Sroake, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, and Entrepreneurs Udaychandra D  Suvarna will be the guest of honour, Navicnhadra D Suvarana, will preside over the faction.

 The Scholarship which is being distributed every year in memory of Union founder late Damodar R Suvarna will be dispersed  to more than 350 poor, talented student of the community from Dakshina Kannada , Udupi and Kasaragod, who were recommended by recognized Billava unions.

The trust will spend ERs 15 lakh for the purpose, he said, Meanwhile, he hoped that the State government would organize the official celebrations of the birth anniversary of Narayaguru at least  from next year as promised by the Chief Minister.
