Nalin Kumar distributes cycles to students

Mangalore, Jan 24: MP Nalin Kumar rode a cycle shortly before distributing cycles to Std VIII  students of Puttur. The public education department organized this programme. 

Nalin Kumar said that the state government had reserved a fund of Rs 1,700 crore for the development of education. The government has launched the project of distributing cycles to Std VIII students in order to encourage them to continue their high school education. 

Puttur MLA Mallika Prasad presided over the programme. She said that the state government has given priority to education by launching a number of schemes as per which additional facilities will be provided to the rural students. Shesha Shayana, the block education officer, said that the government intends to distribute 3,614 cycles to students. 

Smt Savithri Shivaram, the president of the Puttur Taluk Panchayat, and members of the Zilla Panchayat Jayanand, Shayana, and others were present.
