Mangaluru, June 26, 2015: Nagarika Seva Trust demanded that the revenue minister take action against the erring government officials, as per the orders issued by the Chief minister, in connection with the alleged illegal land transactions in the institutions presided by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade.

NST president and Founder Trustee Ranjan Rao Yardur said a delegation from the trust met the revenue minister in last month and has submitted a plea in this regard.  The trust had submitted a memorandum to the government regarding the alleged illegalities in SDM institutions and the government had ordered an inquiry, he said. Government officials had illegally given permission for the purchase of lands towards various establishments, flouting rules of Karnataka Land Reforms Act, he accused and added that 25 such sale deeds towards agricultural lands, have already been declared void by Puttur Assistant Commissioner Basavaraju. The AC has ordered Belthangadi Tahsildar to mention these lands as government lands, in revenue records.
