Man jailed for peeping into bathroom

Mangaluru, Aug 25, 2015: A local magistrate on Saturday sentenced a 21-year-old boy to one year imprisonment on finding him guilty of peeping into the window and seeing a woman taking bath.

Nisar (21), a resident of Ullal, was arrested for allegedly peeping into the widow and seeing a 26-year-old woman, who is his neighbour, taking bath. The woman reportedly saw Nisar after hearing ringing tone of the mobile phone the boy was carrying.

On the complaint by the woman, the Ullal Police arrested Nisar on September 14, 2013.

Police Sub Inspector Ramesh filed chargesheet accusing Nisar under the amended Section 354 of Indian Penal Code. Prosecutor Mohan Kumar administered evidence of the woman and other persons, who had seen Nisar peeping into the window.

The 3rd Judicial Magistrate First Class Undi Manjula Shivappa sentenced Nisar for one-year imprisonment and also imposed fine of Rs. 10,000. Nisar would have to undergo further imprisonment of six months if he fails to pay the fine amount.
