Mangalore, Jan 8: The DK District First Additional Sessions Court sentenced Harish Suvarna alias Harish (35) of Bengre four years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1,000 for attempting to rape an unmarried girl of Bengre and for threatening to kill her. 

On March 23, 2007, Harish followed the victim into the house when she was taking back dried clothes from the clothes line. He gagged her and threatened her with a knife when she tried to resist. 

Pramod Kumar P, the superintendent of Panambur, had registered the case and had submitted the charge sheet to the court. 

Anchate Sanjeev Kumar, the judge of Mangalore First Additional Sessions Court, heard the case and sentenced the accused to 4 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1,000.
