Man accused in cattle theft cases arrested

Mangaluru, Aug 02, 2018: The Bajpe police on Tuesday arrested Mohammed Arif alias Puchheri Arif of Todaru village in Mangaluru Taluk for his alleged involvement in theft of cattle from Tenaka Yedavapadavu on January 27.

The police said that Arif was accused in 19 criminal cases that includes several cases of cattle theft registered in Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Madikeri districts.

The police said two heads of cattle were stolen from Borugudde in Todaru village on January 27.

A few days ago, the police arrested Nayeem who was in the vehicle in which the cattle were taken away. The police said Arif was the prime accused in this case. They are on the lookout for more persons involved in this theft.
