Konkani Natak Bhandar - a reserve for Konkani litrature

Mangalore, Aug 31, 2014: A press release informs, Konkani Natak Bhandar of Konkani Natak Sabha will be inaugurated at Don Bosco Hall, Mangalore on August 31 at 9.45 am, Konkani Natak Bhandar, the repository will contain the copies and transcriptions of manuscripts of Konkani dramas to stage plays, skits, operettas and dramatic pieces anywhere in the world. Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza will preside over the programmes, Daijiworld Weekly Editor Stephen Mascarenhas will be the chief guest, Dolphy, Cascia and Arun Raj will deliver a talk on the occasion.

The Konkani Natak Sabha was found by Rev Fr George Albuquerque on September 19, 1943. The motto of the organisation is ‘Service through drama’. The Sabha has staged several historic, social and religious plays over many decades and serves the cause of Konkani.
