Kodi-Kundapur bridge to open soon

Mangalore, Oct 18, 2014: The work on  Kodi-Kundapur bridge, which was in public demand from many years, is almost complete and will be open for public soon.  The issue on construction of the bridge had been mired in controversies from several years, due to political reasons. There were also obstacles such as sudden stop of the work by the constructing company and people were doubtful on the successful completion of the bridge.

But, at last, the construction of the bridge was carried out unabated and now, is in the last stage of completion. The work on the 7.5 meter wide bridge has been taken up at a cost of Rs four crore and with the construction of the bridge, the distance between Kodi and Kundapur will be reduced drastically. Philip D’Costa, who has availed contract for the work on the bridge said that the work will be complete in the month of December and may be made open for public, by the government in the beginning of 2015.  But, there is a necessity to facilitate one-way under the ring road project as the traffic is expected to get more congested on the Church road, which connects the bridge, according to local the people.
