Karnataka University to confer honorary doctorates on 5 eminent persons

Mangalore, Jan, 26: The Karnataka University will confer honorary doctorates on 5 prominent personalities on the occasion of its 60th annual convocation, which will be held on Feb 8. 

The university has selected Dharmasthala Dharmadikari Dr. Veerendra Heggade; M I Savadatti, the former vice chancellor of Mangalore University; M M Joshi, an ophthalmologist based in Hubli, S L Bairappa, the eminent novelist; and Vishweshwar Bhat, the journalist, to receive the honorary doctorates. 

M N Venkatachala, the former lokayukta, will be the chief guest and will deliver the convocation speech.
