Mangalore, Aug 20, 2014: As per reports, Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited (KIOCL), under its CSR activities has assisted many schools in their various development projects.

To construct a AC roof sheets were provided to  Shri Krishna Anganawadi and Rangamandira Renovation Committee, at Chitrapura in Kulai, Rs 4 lakh had been alloted. KIOCL Chairman and Managing Director Malay Chatterjee inaugurated the renovated Rangamandira roofing,.

For constructing a class room at the Kulur Church Higher Primary School, KIOCL had donated Rs 3,53,000.

Inaugurating the new classroom, the CMD appreciated the school committee for its concern towards the social and economically backward students.The School Committee Correspondent Fr Herold C D’souza expressed his gratitude for the gesture of KIOCL.   Also, an amount of Rs 1,75,000 was given to the school for providing a water purifier with cooler.

Under the green nurturing programme, Panijimogaru School, Kavoor High school, Kavoor Higher Primary school and Marakada Government Higher Primary school have been identified by KIOCL for providing CSR benefits.

 A sum of Rs 10 lakhs has been kept aside for the same. The 1st stage of assistance with an expenditure of Rs 4 lakhs has been put in for providing dustbins, gardening equipment, water supply upgradation, sanitation, steel plates and stands. Classes regarding hygiene, distribution of awareness posters and saplings plantations have been carried out.

KIOCL has joined hands with New Mangalore Port Trust in retaining greenery. A park alongside NH 66 in front of NMPT has been inaugurated, which has additional facility of sprinklers. The KIOCL team has installed the pipeline with sprinklers and are providing constant water supply to enhance the greenery in the park.
