Kasargod, Oct 23, 2014:  Non Resident Keralite Affairs (NORKA) Department CPO P Sudeep, stated that various schemes for those who have lost jobs in Gulf countries have been developed. Interviews for those who have submitted application under NORKA for self-employment will be held in the month of November.  Those who would like take up self-employment will get 10 per cent subsidy upto Rs 20 lakh.

Those who have worked minimum two years in Gulf countries will get the subsidy amount. For details interested can approach NORKA office.  A total of 19,800 applications have been received under the scheme, of which 9,000 have been selected.   A total of Rs 2.13 crore loan has been dispersed among 1,968 persons. Interested can apply for loans through online from December.
