Government plans to develop 24 airports including Mangalore airport

Mangalore, Dec 11: The central government plans to develop the areas surrounding the airports all over the country. Bajpe Airport is one of the airports that the government plans to develop.

Praful Patel, the civil aviation minister, informed the Lok Sabha on Dec 10 that ten cities are included in the first phase of development. These 10 cities are Kolkata, Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, Bhubaneshwar, Lucknow, Indore, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Amritsar, and Jaipur. Fourteen other cities are also included in the list—Trivandrum, Mangalore, Madurai, Khajuraho, Vadodara, Surat, Raipur, Vizag, Bhopal, Varanasi, Tricy, Agartala, Dimapur, Ranchi, and Dehradun.

The government plans to create recreation and food facilities for the passengers. Patel said that facilities such as restaurants, hotels, food court, convention centres, petrol pump, flight kitchen, 0 cargo facilities, and retail shops will soon be provided around the above-mentioned airports.
