GST Law : 210 customs officers trained

Mangaluru, Oct 24, 2016: In view of familiarising all officers of central excise, customs, audit, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence and Directorate General of Central Excise Intelligence to better understand the new Goods and Services Tax (GST) law, the National Academy of Customs, Excise and Narcotics (NACEN), Bengaluru, in association with Central Excise and Service Tax Commissionerate, Mangaluru, conducted a training programme in three batches for five days each till October 21. Training was imparted to 210 officers at Mangaluru.

The officers have been extensively trained in various aspects of GST.

NACEN, Bengaluru in association with Mangaluru commissionerate had earlier conducted a workshop on GST on September 2 for the benefit of the trade and industry, officers and other stakeholders so as to sensitize and better understand the new law and procedures, M Subramanyam, commissioner of central excise, service tax and customs,
