Dec 08, 2016: Karnataka Education and Cultural Children’s Film Institute, Chikkaballapur is organizing a four-day children’s film festival in the Udupi district from December 19. Students from lower, higher primary and high schools will be able to watch films at this festival in a cinema theatre nearest to their school from 8am to 10am, noted Anuradha, additional deputy commissioner, who chaired a preparatory meeting in this connection here on Dec 7, Wednesday.

The films that will be screened are of the type that will inspire the students educationally, Anuradha said adding it is the responsibility of the teachers of respective schools to bring the students to the theatres and take them back to schools. Hence it is all the more important for teachers to pay due attention to their safety, she said, directing the deputy director, department of public instruction to duly sensitize the teachers through the respective BEOs in this regard.
