Former Minister Nagaraj Shetty plays traffic policeman

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Jan 28: Motorists, riders, pedestrians, as well as the traffic policemen on duty at Nanthoor circle were speechless with surprise when former district-in-charge minister Nagaraj Shetty, who is the current chairman of the Coastal Development Authority, stepped out of his car at Nanthoor Circle along with an armed guard, spoke to the traffic policemen regarding traffic issues, and began giving signals to the vehicles caught up in a usual traffic jam.

Mangaloreans obeyed the politician’s signals without making a single comment although they were taken aback. Some motorists were shocked to see an armed guard.

Nagaraj Shetty had kept well out of the limelight after completing his term as minister. However, his activities at Nanthoor Circle, which is the venue of constant traffic jams, caught the attention of many people and the news spread.

Later, some people commented that the traffic problem at Nanthoor was at its height during Nagaraj Shetty’s term as district-in-charge minister.

The minister was at Nanthoor for nearly ten minutes, after which he got into his car and left.
